The trees have eyes

The watching trees, they are overall in the town. They have eyes like on the ancient Egyptian paintings:

Spring flowers inspiration

I found this small Japanese vase (actually a soy sauce pot) at the flea market of the Crowning day this year, it was certainly worth the 20cent what I paid for it. I thought it was so lovely with the spring flowers that it deserved to be painted. I could finally use my new watercolor pencils, they are Dutch Bruynzeel pencils, it's really amazing to draw and paint with them.

Ezt a kis japán vázát (valójában szójaszósztartó) meg a koronázásnapi bolhapiacon találtam. Hollandiában minden évben a királynő születésnapján, vagyis mar annak előestéjén (mostantól persze a király születésnapján), teli vannak az utcák piaci árusokkal. De nem igazi eladók ezek, hanem gyerekek és felnőttek, akik az otthon felgyülemlett kacatoktól, mar nem használt tárgyaktól próbálnak megszabadulni, és egyben egy kis pénzt keresni. Ilyenkor nagyon olcsón lehet könyvet, porcelánt, régi játékokat beszerezni. Én 20centet fizettem a vázamért, szerintem nagyon megérte. Benne a tavaszi virágokkal annyira tetszett, hogy muszáj volt lefestenem. Végre kipróbálhattam az új akvarellceruzáimat, holland Bruynzeel ceruzák, nagyon szuper velük rajzolni/festeni.

Inspired by Matisse

I'm in love with the paintings of Matisse... Together with Chagall they used the most beautiful blue shades imaginable. This watercolor painting of mine is based on Matisse's oil painting the "Blue window".

And voilá, the Matisse Museum in Nice, surrounded by an olive garden, it's a georgeous place. Right next to it, you can find a monastery with a breathtaking flower garden.

Nagy kedvencem Matisse, talán az ő meg Chagall kékjei a legszebbek, legalábbis számomra. Ezt a vízfestményt a Kék ablak c. olajképe alapján készítettem, megfogott az egyszerűsége, hogy milyen kevés tárggyal és színnel is milyen jól ki lehet tölteni a teret.

A lenti fotón a nizzai Matisse Múzum, tavaly nyáron jártunk itt, gyönyörű kopott-piros épület egy nagy olajfaliget közepén, pár lépésre tőle pedig egy kolostor hihetetlenül szép virágos kerttel.

Sometimes I have the feeling that I already have way too many yarns, which of course, doesn’t stop me buying even more. This inspired me to paint this little guy who has had plenty of (yarn:) noodles.

A kínai emberkénknek túl sok volt a fonaltészta... Az ötlet valahogy úgy merülhetett fel, hogy már nekem is annyi fonalam van, hogy el se férek tőlük.
